Saturday Night September 4th: A Taste of Jerusalem

Selichot are the penitential prayers that are recited leading up to the High Holidays. It is traditional to recite selichot in the middle of the night on the Saturday evening before Rosh Hashanah, to help awaken ourselves to the spiritual task of teshuva, of returning
to God and to our own soul.
This year for Selichot we will be taking a field trip and cosponsoring
a unique prayer experience in Brookline with Rabbi Ebn Leader. Rabbi Ebn Leader, Rabbi Fine’s teacher at Hebrew College, is an amazing prayer leader reknowned for his depth of kavannah and ability
to lead a community into a deep song-filled prayer experience. He led the well known “Leader Minyan” in
Jerusalem for many years. A number of independent minyanim, along with faculty and students at the Hebrew
College rabbinical school, will join with us and Rabbi Leader for a night of prayer and
singing.

The gathering will take place at Temple Beth Zion in Brookline from 11:30 pm – 1 am. It is late, but it is worth it!

We will meet in the Temple Sinai parking lot at 10:30, leaving by carpool at 10:45.

Please RSVP to the Temple Sinai office, and let us know if you can
offer rides or would like a ride in a carpool.
