Susan Weiner, Executive Director

Susan began her career at Lesley College in Cambridge, MA graduating with a degree in Elementary and Special Education. She worked for a private early childhood program in Salem, MA for three years after graduation before taking on a Special Education classroom in the Malden Public School system. While working at the Lincoln Elementary School in Malden she was approached by her Congregation, Temple Tifereth Israel of Malden, to build and implement an Early Childhood program. Working with the State of MA’s Office for Children division she built a preschool program from the ground up. During this time she went on to complete the requirements needed to obtain Early Childhood Director certification through the State of Massachusetts. Once completed she was asked to direct the new school and additionally offered the position of Religious School Director and with both positions became the first Education Director of Temple Tifereth Israel, a position she held for seven years.

Then taking her background in education to another level by working at the Mayan Book Company as an administrative assistant and curriculum advisor, eventually being promoted to manager of the Religious School book division. She then went on to work at Temple Emanu-El in Marblehead as an administrative assistant for the Temple at large and the Religious School, a position she held for over 13 years. Looking to get back into management she accepted the position of Executive Director at Temple Sinai.

In addition to her professional work, Susan has been a life member of Hadassah since 1998. In 1996 she received the Woman of the Year award for her dedication and work in the chapter. She was an active volunteer at Cohen Hillel Academy in Marblehead where her daughter attended for nine years. Deeply committed to Congregational life, she has been actively involved in her Congregation, assuming many volunteer roles and stepping in where the need has been great. Susan is married to Lawrence “Larry” Weiner and they have one daughter, Elana Ashley Weiner, who is currently studying at the Pardes Institute in Israel for the last two years.


Marla Parisi, Administrative Assistant

Marla is a resident of the North Shore with a background in Political Science from the University at Buffalo (SUNY at Buffalo), where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree. Marla has broad administrative office experience within several industries, including the non-profit sector. In her spare time, she enjoys all kinds of music, watching movies, reading, and drawing.
